Tin Soldier
Musician, singer / songwriter from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The influences have been vast and varied through the years so now a solo recording artist, producer and sound technician. Tin Soldier takes his name from his heavy mod influences of the 60’s and in particular that of The Small Faces to name but one.
That said, his other clear loves are The Beatles, early R&B through to the classic tunes of the Finn brothers of Crowded House and certainly Oasis, Kula Shaker to name just a few from the Britpop era of the 90’s.
Having been in local bands and touring the UK on the club scene in the 80’s, the early song writing took a back seat much to the frustration of Tin Soldier and other band members at that time, known in the Sheffield region as ‘The Shooze’, with their own songs having a distinctive 60's feel, even at that time. The late eighties and early 90’s saw the lineup change slightly and the ‘Spangle Arcade’ were born writing and recording original tracks with an even stronger guitar presence into the early 90’s.

After a long hiatus, a new energy has emerged that is tempered by experience and a want and somewhat need to write, sing and record a catalogue of original tracks, though a couple of the tracks planned for future releases, having been written in the early days of Spangle Arcade but most completely contemporary.
There are no plans at this time to get a band together, however if there is a favourable response to the up and coming debut Album and future releases then a live band may be the way forward if the demand is there. At this stage it’s about the songs and the music, so listen and enjoy.

Here’s to the future of great guitar band music and Backbeat Studios.
